Amanah today hit out at the PAS president for urging voters in Sungai Besar to support the party or face the wrath of God.
“It just speaks volumes in terms of their thinking. PAS and its President (Datuk Seri) Abdul Hadi Awang have to accept that they don’t speak for God,” said Amanah Communications Director Khalid Samad in remarks to news portal Free Malaysia Today.
The Shah Alam MP was referring to Hadi’s warning to voters that they would be “damned” if they did not vote for a candidate who had pledged to support Islamic ideals, including the efforts to introduce hudud laws.
Last night, Hadi said choosing the wrong MP would mean voters “had sinned and be damned by Allah.
He also said the PAS candidate in Sungai Besar Dr Abdul Rani Osman was honest and responsible and had taken a loyalty oath to ensure he followed Islamic principles.
